-unplug electronics and battery charges (they use electricity even if they are switched off)
-buy light bulbs that save energy
-buy appliances with low power consumption\
-do your homework in the daytime when possible
-turn off water when you brush your teeth

Energy resources.
Collect information, then write a short article about how to save energy at home. You can use ideas from ex.5 p. 31 in your textbook. You can also visit this web-site. Find some other sites if you wish.
Criteria for assessment:
1. Your article contains proper information;
2. Your article has 100-150 words (do not forget to count the words yourself and write the number in brackets);
3. Provide one picture/image/photo illustrating your article (small size, left)
4. Your article has no serious grammar and spelling errors;
5. Your article is written before the deadline (10th November)
This task is optional for Group 2.

Task 1
Choose a landmark (an interesting place) in London and make a presentation about it.

Criteria for the assessment:
1. Your presentation has minimum 5 slides;
2. The first slide has the headline, your name with the first letter of your surname, year and the school name; the last slide has the list of sources;
3. The next slides have an image and a text describing it (find in the Internet);
4. Under the embedded presentation write 2 questions about it;
5. The text and the questions are mostly grammatical.

1. You have presented your work in class (not reading, learn it by heart)
2. You have found a video about your landmark in the Internet, embed it in your blog and write 2 questions about it.

Comic strip

Part 1:The next task is to create a comic strip. You may begin practicing now.The instructions are here
Study the instructions and practice creating your own comic strip. I hope you will enjoy doing it during your winter holidays!
Part 2:
Create a comic strip story about your winter holidays under the headline "At this time...". Remember that the introduction to your story was in Task 3. Think about the characters, the background and the plot. There should be minimum 3 characters, 3 slides, 6 speech bubbles
The aim: practice functions/language structures in dialogues (invite/agree/disagree/suggest/oppose/comment/warn/ask etc. See "Grammarway 3" page 127 for ideas)
Criteria for the assessment:
1.The layout of your blog and post are correct (see tasks1-3);
2.Your comic strip is connected with the theme and introduction
3.There are 3 slides,3 characters, 6 speech bubbles;
4.Your bubbles are mostly without errors;
5.You posted your comic strip on time and did not send the comments about it before the deadline.

2. The layout and settings are appropriate (see Task 1.3, 2.4)
3. A story has 50-80 words (count the words and write the number in brackets)
4. There are minimum 5 “winter“ words (they are in bold type)
5. There are no grammar or spelling errors (no more than 2-3 tiny slips).
If you have done 5 items, your mark is “Very good”.
